Delivering Scalable Infrastructure for a Multi-Story Financial Facility in Indianapolis

Delivering Scalable Infrastructure for a Multi-Story Financial Facility in Indianapolis

Project Overview

A financial institution in a major Midwest market partnered with Wired Communications to support the infrastructure buildout of a new three-story facility. The project required a coordinated effort across multiple trades, with a focus on delivering a clean, scalable, and high-performance network foundation.

The scope included the installation of nearly 900 structured cabling drops, fiber backbone distribution, and support for several integrated building systems across all floors.

The Challenge

This was not a simple cabling project. From the start, the environment required precision, flexibility, and constant coordination.

  • Multiple vendors were involved, including security, access control, and audio visual teams
  • Cabling needed to align exactly with design prints for each trade to complete their systems properly
  • Architectural elements like decorative ceilings created constraints for cable routing and concealment
  • Design adjustments during construction required ongoing modifications to cabling pathways

In addition, incoming service provider circuits terminated in a separate location, requiring extension into the main distribution frame without disrupting the project timeline.

What Made the Difference

Where many projects slow down due to changes, this one required constant adaptability.

Wired Communications approached the project with the expectation that modifications would happen and built processes to support them.

  • Adjusted to design changes without disrupting other trades
  • Quickly rerouted or added cabling as needed
  • Maintained project momentum despite evolving requirements

This flexibility helped prevent delays and ensured other vendors could stay on schedule.

The Outcome

The result was a fully integrated, high-performance cabling infrastructure that supported multiple systems across three floors, all delivered within the pace of an active construction environment.

  • Nearly 900 data drops installed and tested
  • Fiber backbone connecting all network distribution points
  • Infrastructure ready for security, access control, AV, and wireless systems
  • Clean, organized installation aligned with long-term usability

The client team noted strong appreciation for the ability to respond quickly and effectively when unexpected changes arose during the project.

Planning a New Financial Facility or Expansion?

If you're designing a new branch, headquarters, or upgrading existing infrastructure, the challenges are often the same: multiple vendors, evolving plans, and the need for a network that performs from day one.

Getting the cabling infrastructure right early helps prevent delays, reduces rework, and ensures every connected system operates as intended.

Why It Matters

For financial institutions and other high-demand environments, infrastructure is not just about connectivity. It is about reliability, coordination, and future readiness.

This project highlights how the right low-voltage partner can:

  • Keep complex, multi-vendor projects on track
  • Adapt to changes without compromising quality
  • Deliver infrastructure that supports long-term growth
