Project Overview

Envelop IQ partnered with Wired Communications to overhaul the network infrastructure for six Indianapolis Public Schools. The project involves replacing legacy systems with Cat 6A cabling, OM4 fiber optics, and fully modernized MDF and IDF buildouts, ensuring reliable, high-speed connectivity for modern educational needs. To minimize disruptions, the team has carefully scheduled work during weekends and holidays, with project completion anticipated by January 2025.

Project Highlights:

• Installation of Cat 6A cabling and 12-strand OM4 fiber to each IDF.

• Buildouts for 14 telecommunications closets with new 2-post and 4-post racks.

• Strategic scheduling of network cutovers during non-operational hours to avoid downtime.

The Challenges

1. Legacy Fiber Systems:

Our Solution

Custom Network Design:
The team at Wired replaced outdated systems with high-performance multimode fiber and CAT6a copper cabling. The network design prioritized scalability, ensuring it could adapt to future growth and evolving technology needs.

Optimized Telecommunications Closets:
To address space constraints uncovered during construction, the team designed and built space-efficient telecommunications closets, optimizing the layout for streamlined maintenance and future expansion.

On-the-Fly Adjustments:
Our technicians adapted to unforeseen challenges by rerouting cables and modifying pathways, ensuring the project stayed on schedule.
