Project Overview
EnvelopIQ is a forward-thinking developer, focused on integrating advanced technologies into their large-scale commercial projects. As they embarked on the development of the Electric Works BP 1 & 2 campus, their objective was to create a highly connected, secure environment, built to support growing technological demands across multiple buildings and spaces.
The experts at Wired were brought in to handle the extensive cabling and security infrastructure to ensure seamless operations for years to come.
The Challenges
The scale and complexity of Electric Works BP 1 & 2 presented multiple challenges, including:
A robust fiber optic backbone capable of supporting high bandwidth across buildings.
Extensive CAT6 cabling for developer-owned cameras and wireless access points (APs).
Secure door access control cabling to support a range of security devices across entry points.
A scalable solution to accommodate the vast campus, ensuring long-term performance and ease of future expansion.
With such a vast scope, precision in planning and execution was critical to ensure every part of the campus was seamlessly integrated.
Our Solution
We delivered full-service structured cabling solutions, from design to installation, ensuring all of EnvelopIQ’s technical needs were met.
Fiber Backbone Installation
We expertly installed a 24-strand singlemode fiber, 12-strand multimode fiber, and 25-pair copper backbone from the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) in Building 26 to other MDFs across the campus. This included 9 backbone runs between buildings, ensuring stable and secure connections for high-capacity data transmission. Additionally, each building was connected with 12-strand singlemode and 6-strand multimode fiber from its MDF to IDFs within the building, providing reliable internal network distribution.Camera & Wireless Cabling
The project also required extensive camera and wireless access point installation. Our team deployed approximately 275 CAT6 cables to developer-owned cameras and access points (APs) throughout the campus, both interior and exterior. This created a reliable infrastructure to support security surveillance and wireless network coverage.Access Control Cabling
To ensure secure access, we installed 22/4 and 18/8 cables at each access-controlled door. Although devices and connections were provided by others, Wired ensured a seamless integration with the security infrastructure through fully code-compliant installation of every cable.Materials & Quality
We used high-quality Belden fiber and copper cabling to ensure long-lasting performance and durability for this critical infrastructure.
Client Results
Thanks to our industry expertise and attention to detail, EnvelopIQ now benefits from a secure, scalable, and high-performance network and security system across the Electric Works BP 1 & 2 campus. With 9 backbone runs, extensive CAT6 cabling for cameras and APs, and a secure access control system in place, the Electric Works campus is positioned to meet current needs while being adaptable for future growth.
