2005: A New Beginning with Deep Roots

Our story reaches back to 1968, when Charles Kitchen helped found KLF, laying a foundation of cabling expertise that would span decades. In the 1990s, his son Kyle Kitchen followed in his father's footsteps, earning his BICSI RCDD certification and serving as a steady hand through years of technological change.

In April 2005, Kyle officially launched Wired Communications as an independent organization. Building on a heritage of hard-earned industry trust, Wired opened its doors with just six employees and a clear vision: to build the most reliable networks in the business while treating every client as a long-term partner. Our mission was to provide cabling infrastructure that guarantees peak performance from day one and ensures network stability for years to come.

The early years weren't without their challenges, though, as we helped local businesses navigate the complex shift from analog systems to digital-centric infrastructures. But thanks to our deep Fort Wayne roots and commitment to precision at every connection, we grew quickly. From day one, we established a dual presence in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis, ensuring that Indiana businesses had a trusted partner to power their growth.

Growth and Evolution (2005–2015)

As the demand for high-speed data skyrocketed, we scaled to meet the challenge. During our first decade, we reached several transformative milestones that moved us beyond our startup roots:

• Regional Scaling: We rapidly deepened our presence in the Indianapolis market, transitioning from a new arrival to one of the premier network cabling companies for Central Indiana’s industrial sectors.

• Augusta Expansion: In 2013, we officially extended our footprint into the Southeast, opening our third office in Augusta, Georgia.

• Technical Authority: We solidified our status as structured cabling experts by maintaining elite manufacturer partnerships and ensuring our field teams held top-tier BICSI certifications, anchored by Kyle’s RCDD-led design expertise.

A Multi-State Leader (2015–2025)

Technology moves fast, so we’ve spent the last decade making sure our clients never feel left behind. We’ve successfully navigated the shift toward high-performance, digital-centric infrastructures, ensuring our partners’ networks are ready for the increasing demands of fiber optics and smart-building technology.

Today, we operate three primary regional hubs in Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, and Augusta. Following our successful expansion into the Columbus, Ohio market in 2024, we are better positioned than ever to support the entire Midwest corridor and beyond.

While technology evolves, our core values remain the same as they have been since the very beginning. We maintain a steadfast commitment to quality and standards, ensuring every install is ANSI/TIA compliant. Our clients still receive the same local, personalized service they did in 2005, backed by transparent pricing and a partnership-first approach that treats every project as a long-term partnership.

Client Success Stories We’re Proud Of

In 2013, we expanded into Augusta, Georgia, where we established one of our largest healthcare partnerships with University Hospital, now known as Piedmont Augusta. That foundation continues to support our ongoing work across healthcare facilities throughout the region.

Our presence in Augusta is largely focused on healthcare environments, built on years of hands-on experience and a strong understanding of the standards required in these spaces. Our team holds multiple certifications relevant to healthcare infrastructure, and we maintain specialized equipment such as a HEPA cart, allowing us to meet higher infection control standards during installation and service work.

In 2026, we completed a large-scale structured cabling project for Indiana Members Credit Union in Indianapolis, installing over 890 data cables throughout a new three-story facility. The project required close coordination with multiple vendors to ensure proper installation, organization, and alignment with the overall build schedule.

Throughout the process, our team remained flexible and responsive, accommodating several last-minute changes without impacting quality or progress. This level of adaptability, combined with consistent execution, helped keep the project moving forward and ensured a reliable infrastructure for the client’s new space.
