Building a Scalable Network Infrastructure for Thor Motor Coach

Project Overview

Thor Motor Coach, a leading motorhome manufacturer in North America, required a scalable network infrastructure for its headquarters and main plant. Known for their innovation, reliability, and customer satisfaction, Thor needed a solution that would ensure seamless connectivity and production continuity. Their commitment to excellence in product quality extends to their internal operations, making a robust network crucial to supporting their growing technological needs and operational efficiency across multiple facilities.

The Challenges

Thor Motor Coach required a comprehensive network infrastructure solution for its headquarters and main plant, ensuring seamless connectivity across multiple buildings, including workstations, access points, and security systems.

Our Solution

We designed and implemented a new network layout to ensure full building coverage and long-term scalability. Key elements of the solution included:

  • Fiber Backbone
We installed a multimode fiber backbone from the main distribution frame (MDF) to each intermediate distribution frame (IDF), optimizing data transfer throughout the facility.

  • Cat6a Cabling
Approximately 550 Cat6a cables were installed to connect workstations, wireless access points, and cameras, providing reliable, high-speed connectivity.

  • High-Quality Materials
We used Panduit connectivity and General Cable products, both backed by the PanGen warranty, ensuring performance and reliability across the network.

Client Results

Thor Motor Coach’s headquarters and main plant now have a robust, scalable network that meets their current demands and is prepared for future growth. The network is protected by a PanGen warranty, ensuring ongoing reliability and performance.
