The Situation
One of the largest school districts in Indiana, with over 16,000 students, wanted to become one of the first with 100% one-to-one computing for students. Plans were designed and engineered by our BICSI certified RCDD for a district-wide upgrade to the structured cabling network that’s the kind of forward thinking we can build on.
The Solution
Through a collaborative effort with the owners’ representative, we designed a structured cabling network to exceed the immediate needs for one-to-one computing, preparing them for the next generation of Power over Ethernet as well. The structured cabling network was then designed to enable the students, faculty, and staff to access a comprehensive wireless network by using mobile devices, PC’s, tablets and iPads. This structured cabling solution guarantees performance at the highest data rates and PoE requirements. The CAT 6a structured cabling was designed and installed to prepare the client for the deployment of 802.11ac which fully operational requires 6.93 Gb/s of bandwidth to operate. Smart thinking for the demanding one-to-one computing standards of today, while also preparing the schools for the growing PoE needs in the future. Technology kids can count on.
