Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Sales Engineer (SE) to join our team. The SE will play a pivotal role in the sales and project management lifecycle, from initial scoping and specification to pricing, execution, and closeout. This role requires a strong balance of technical expertise, account management skills, and the ability to effectively communicate our value as a contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Technical Design:

  • Collaborate with business development teams to identify and qualify sales opportunities.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications and design customized solutions for design-build projects or in conjunction with consultants.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to define project scope for bids.

Project Scoping and Costing:

  • Accurately calculate material and labor costs for defined project scopes.
  • Prepare detailed scopes of work to communicate design solutions to clients and guide installation teams.

Project Management:

  • Coordinate labor resources in collaboration with the installation manager.
  • Manage projects from start to finish, including scheduling, material procurement, progress meetings, client communication, and budget adherence.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion within budget constraints.

Documentation and Quality Assurance:

  • Generate percentage completion reports to trigger invoicing milestones.
  • Compile and deliver closeout documentation, including test results, as-built drawings, and warranty paperwork.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster trust and secure future business opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word); familiarity with Visio, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Adobe is a plus.
  • Proven experience with CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic cabling in commercial LAN environments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of BICSI installation standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience crafting technical specifications and designing solutions for complex projects.
  • Proven ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Previous experience in a sales engineering or technical project management role.
